Effective 1st April 2017, Pembangunan Sumber Manusia Berhad (PSMB) or the Human Resources Development Fund (HRDF) is amending the PSMB Act 2001 to expand its scope of coverage for all sub-sectors under the Manufacturing, Services, and Mining & Quarrying Sectors.
The amendments and Expansions of the PSMB Act 2001 includes an additional expansion of its Optional Category for employers with 5 to 9 Malaysian employees across the 3 mentioned sectors; standardisation of its Mandatory Category with the abolishment of the requirement for a paid-up capital for Manufacturing and Mining & Quarrying sector; and the Mandatory Requirement for employers across the 3 mentioned sectors with 10 or more Malaysian employees to register under the Act.
In view of the importance of the above matter, this upcoming briefing aims at disseminating information regarding the amendments and expansion of the PSMB Act 2001 and its benefits.
